Updated astrological score of John McCain

Since presentation of the last post “Forecast of 2008 US Presidential Elections based on Astrology-Mathematical Model” on September 9, 2008, the birth certificate of John McCain is now being made available by Steve and is reproduced in Astrologyweekly.com dated October 21, 2008. McCain’s Time at birth is now 18.25 and not 9.00 considered in the previous blog. The present blog thus presents revised score of McCain. (Incidentally, there is no change in Obama’s previous score as it was based on time given in the birth certificate.)

In the context of new but authentic time at birth, astrological score of McCain is now 1,782 days and not 2,108 days stated in the last blog. Apparent reduction in the score is result of Moon falling in the seventh house from debilitated Mars. This led to reduction of 243 points in McCain’s score. Secondly, Venus now is in the sixth Zodiac in his birth chart and thus it is debilitated. Moreover, the owner of sixth Zodiac is NN placed in ‘Mula’ asterism- the weakest one in total of 27 asterisms. This led to further reduction of 38 points. Mercury too is in the same zodiac causing reduction of 45 points.

Thus, astrological scores of Barak Obama (1,737 days) and John McCain (1,782) have turned out to be close to each other making it very difficult to judge final outcome of election purely based on the score. Thus one has to look into the other aspects for astrological charts for judging election outcome.

Historically, debilitated Venus has proved to be weak endowment for its owner. Debilitated Venus spoiled political life of many US presidents. These include Franklin Pierce, Rutherford Hayes, James Garfield, Warren Harding, Herbert Hoover and Bill Clinton. McCain too would face some anxious moments for such placement of Venus. Moreover, Venus in McCain’s case is placed in sixth house whose owner NN is in ‘Mula’ Asterism indicating more serious weakness of Venus. McCain’s Venus is thus of very poor quality. So also is his Mercury which is in the sixth house having equally poor connotations to its owner for similar reasons. Debilitated Mars further added to his nightmare. As stated in the previous blog, Pluto’s placement in fourth zodiac owned by Moon would lead to humiliation in McCain’s life.
On the other hand, Moon and Pluto in Obama’s horoscope are exalted and thus are powerful. Moreover, Obama’s Moon is located in its own asterism and also its sub-asterism. The owner of fourth Zodiac in which Obama’s Sun and Mercury are placed is Exalted Moon. This has given considerable strength to his life. NN in the neighborhood of exalted Pluto has strengthened NN – a necessary condition for a politician to become dynamic. Only negative aspect of Obama’s horoscope is debilitated Jupiter. Thus, Obama has a superior horoscope to that of McCain’s. This indicates better chances for Obama to get elected.

Notwithstanding, Obama (1,737 days) or McCain (1,782 days), if elected, will be one-term president owing to the score far short of the two term upper limit of 2,920 days constitutionally fixed for a President since Twenty Second amendment becoming effective in 1951.

Forecast of 2008 US Presidential Elections based on Astrology-Mathematical Model

Combining a mathematical model and astrology, Dr. M. P. Wagle has attempted to estimate a ‘score’ (to be called ‘Wagle score’ and measured by the number of days) to assess the prospects of winning the US presidential race by the two major contenders, namely Republican John McCain and Democrat Barrack Obama. This model took seven years to develop in the present form, and uses horoscope as source of data of several astrological attributes considered in the model. However, this exercise is still in the preliminary stage and should therefore be considered as approximation. The scores of the major contenders for presidential elections from 1940 to 2004 are also presented for deeper insights. However, while the score of each of the past presidents is considered as equivalent to the days they actually occupied the office, and confirmed by the Model for relevance, the score of the major unsuccessful contenders has also been estimated with help of the model. Estimated scores will be subject to change whenever reliable time at birth is available.

Some interesting results:
The scores for the major contenders of 1940 to 2004 US presidential elections and the
2008 primaries are quite revealing, and confirm the fact that with the exception of John F. Kennedy, the contenders with a score higher than that of the other major contender got elected. (See table). Kennedy, who won the race for presidency despite his lower score than that of Nixon, is a lone exception during the period under consideration..

Interestingly, the estimated figure of 3,003 days of the present incumbent president George Bush suggests that in all probability he will complete his two terms. A negative score recorded by the Bush’s loosing opponents of 2000 and 2004 elections corroborates the fact that such a negative score is detrimental to prospects of getting elected to US presidency. While Al Gore with a negative score of 58 days lost 2000 elections, John Kerry with the negative score of 840 days lost 2004 elections.

Regarding elections of the current 2008 primaries of the Democratic and Republican parties, the contenders with a superior score from both the parties, got nominated to presidency. While Barak Obama with a superior score of 1,737 days superseded Hillary Clinton with a lower score of 1,601 days to Democratic Party nomination, John McCain with the superior score of 2,109 days superseded Mitt Romney with a lower score of 1,799 days in the race for Republican Party nomination.

For similar reasons, John McCain lost to George Bush in 2000 Republican primaries.

Advantages of ‘Score’
(1) This score can be estimated immediately after birth thereby giving signals far in advance than ‘opinion polls’, and can thus prove as a useful guide for the persons desirous of contesting for US presidency in future.
(2) This score is based on a user friendly mathematical model, and needs some knowledge of mathematics, statistics and astrology.
(3) The Model will improve over a period of time in future as and when more presidents are added to the list of US presidents.

Limitations of study
•Time at birth of some of the past presidents is not correctly known. This may affect accuracy of forecast owing to the fact that three astrological attributes change rapidly.
•Some astrological attributes are not adequately represented in the model owing to rare repetition of some of their components.
•Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are not yet included in 120 year cycle as these planets were not known earlier.
•As stated earlier, estimated scores will be subject to change whenever reliable time at birth is available.

Who will win 2008 US presidential race?
In the context of McCain’s higher score of 2,108 days against the lower score of 1,737 days of Obama, McCain is likely to win 2008 presidential race. Moreover McCain, if elected, will get a place in history of prominent U.S. presidents whose North Node (NN) was placed in either its own ‘asterism’ or sub-division of that asterism. Such presidents include George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Polk, Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley, Theodor Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson. The three other presidents with similar placement of NN, but who faced threat of impeachment, could overcome the threat owing to such favorable placement. They include Andrew Johnson, Richard Nixon and Bill Clinton

Notwithstanding, the statement that McCain with a higher score is likely to get elected to presidency should be viewed with caution. Some instances in the history of US elections have proved that presidential hopefuls with a score higher than the winners lost the race, though most of them occupied the White house later. They include Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Grover Cleveland, Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon. This calls for further examination.

Moreover, McCain, despite positive contribution of NN, is likely to face some sort of humiliation owing to placement of his Pluto in Zodiac Cancer. This has also been confirmed by humiliation faced by the present incumbent George Bush, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton and John Kerry for same reason.
